All Gutter models have a prefined elevation in the library with the bottom of the main Gutter at 236cm. With a height of 12.2cm the top is at 248.2cm. The Down Spouts have no predefined elevation because that depends on what size Spout and which elbows you use.

(This library makes the old library on Sourceforge obsolete.)

Alignment

A Spout Connector is 2mm larger on each side than the Spout itself. In most cases moving 2mm after aligning is sufficient.

Other alignments (using a horizontal Gutter as base)
  • End Cap: Set the same Y as the Gutter. Align right and move 2mm to the right. (With a mirrored cap align and move left.)
  • Spout under Outer Corner outlet: Align with the corner where the hole is. Move 4.5cm in for both sides.
  • Spout under Inner Corner outlet: Align with the corner where the hole is. Move 2cm in for both sides.
  • Spout under the straith outlet: Set the same X as the Gutter. Align top with the gutter and move 1.9cm down
  • Gutter Hangers: Set the same Y as the Gutter.
  • Gutter Brackets: Align the top with the Gutter and move 3mm up.
  • Leaf Screen: Set the same Y as the Gutter, move 2mm up.
If you want your gutters at a different elevation

The easiest way is to initially accept the predefined elevations from the library. Build your gutters. When you are finished group all gutter objects: the gutters, gutter hangers/brackets, gutter connectors, and leaf screens (all the objects with a predefined elevation). Group these objects and adjust the elevation of the group. This is much easier than having to change the elevation of each individual object. Then ungroup and add the spouts.

Calculating the needed gutter lenght between two corners

First place both corners. Group the two corners and check what the width is of the group. The group width -60cm is the lenght of the gutter needed between the corners. Since the straith outlet is also 30cm wide (like the corners) the same calculation works with that model.

Didn't find a model that you need? Ask for it in the Dodecagon forum thread with a clear description. If the model is interesting for more users and fits in the library I will consider adding it.
