Dodecagon Shapes

You might have noticed that 12-sided dodecagon shapes are a main theme with the models available on this site 😎

I created these shapes mostly to avoid having to re-create them for every model. Some of these shapes are used to connect other shapes without having to calculate and draw weird angles. Uncessessary to state that most shapes are 12-sided or a part of that, especially the cylinders and spheres. A few shapes function as a staircase that can punch a hole in the ceiling. Of course that will only work when imported using the furniture library.

It might seem that some shapes are double in the library but take a careful look at the orientation of the dodecagon shape. In most cases there's a version with a point at the top and the similar version has a flat side at the top. This makes it easier to align shapes depending on the needed orientation without having to rotate the shape. Also partial shapes are either sliced through the middle of a flat side or through opposing corner points.

These shapes are very useful if you don't want to use Blender for some parts. Many shapes can avoid resorting to Blender when creating custom models.

After I created most of these shapes the "Create basic shape" tool was introduced. You might find it easier to use that tool for some of the the basic shapes.
